Summary:
The works comprised the demolition of an existing pair of 1960’s semi-detached houses to make way for three new residential dwellings for affordable rent.
The existing houses utilised a stacked pre-cast concrete plank external wall system with wire tied connections to concrete posts. The outside walls had no insulation, resulting in the houses being cold and suffering from condensation.
There was asbestos material within the houses requiring careful removal and disposal before demolition commenced.
Testing of the soil on site identified contamination with lead. Clean topsoil was imported for use within the gardens.
Construction commenced in March 2021 and completed in March 2022.
