Work on new Rural Skills Centre at Walford and North Shropshire College completed early 2014

Metrics were delighted to have provided Quantity Surveying and CDM Co-ordinator services for the new Rural Skills Centre and Rural Enterprise Hub at the Walford Campus of Walford and North Shropshire College, which opened earlier this year

The project comprised the conversion of two Grade 2 listed buildings at the Walford campus to create a new Rural Skills Centre and Rural Enterprise Hub forming part of a £3m transformation of the Walford campus that will ensure learners, apprentices and local businesses benefit from state of the art accommodation to complement the superb learning experience already offered at Walford.

The conversion of the old stable block into a Rural Skills Centre provides five high quality additional classrooms along with a large multi-purpose workshop area, to accommodate rural skills training for employers, adult learners and young people.

Alongside the Rural Skills Centre, the scheme provides for conversion of the Grade 2 listed former Cannery Building, to create office accomodation.

The refurbishment work was undertaken by Pave-Aways as main Contractor.
